Summary: A case of fraud (bedrägeri) has been reported against an elderly woman. After an SMS about supposed works in her flat ("window replacement"), the victim was contacted by someone who pretended to be a police officer and then had her jewellery stolen. The Police remind people that unexpected information and requests must always be verified through official channels.
How the scam works (example): vishing / impersonation scheme
- SMS or message about technical or maintenance works.
- Phone call from a fake officer who "confirms" the intervention.
- Home visit and theft of cash and valuables.
If you receive a similar contact, hang up and call the official number of the Police or the relevant authority yourself. Do not let anyone into your home without prior verification.
